Getting Started
How do I create my first screening?
Sign up for a free account, get your API token from Profile → API Tokens, then either use the dashboard to upload resumes or use the CLI/Python SDK for automation. Your first 30 screenings are free!
How long does screening take?
Screening is fast - typically just a few seconds per resume. Most jobs complete within seconds, even for larger batches. You can track progress in real-time via the dashboard or API.
What file formats do you support?
We support .txt (recommended), .pdf, .doc, .docx, .pages, and .md. For best results, use plain text or ensure PDFs have selectable text (not scanned images). You can also upload a ZIP file with multiple resumes.
How many resumes can I screen at once?
Free tier: Up to 10 resumes per job
Paid plans: Up to 50 resumes per job
API maximum: Up to 100 resumes per job for batch processing
Do I need technical skills to use HireSquire?
No! The dashboard lets you screen candidates without writing any code. For automation, we provide the CLI, Python SDK, and REST API - but these are optional. Most users start with the dashboard.
Pricing & Billing
How much does HireSquire cost?
We charge $0.01 per candidate for screenings beyond your plan limit. Plans start at $9/month for 1,000 screenings. Enterprise plans offer volume discounts.
What's included in the free plan?
30 free candidate screenings per month - no credit card required. Full access to all features including CLI, Python SDK, MCP, REST API, and webhooks.
How does billing work?
We offer monthly subscription plans. Your plan includes a set number of screenings per month. If you exceed your limit, additional screenings cost $0.01 each. You can monitor usage and set spending alerts.
Can I get a refund?
We don't offer refunds for used screenings. However, if you haven't used your screenings, contact us within 30 days of purchase for a refund.
Do you offer enterprise pricing?
Yes! Enterprise plans include higher limits, dedicated support, custom integrations, and volume discounts. Contact us for a custom quote.
Technical Questions
How do I get my API token?
Log in to your dashboard → Click "Profile" in the top navigation → Scroll to "API Tokens" → Click "Create New Token" → Copy and save your token securely.
What's the difference between CLI, SDK, REST API, and MCP?
CLI: Command-line tool for quick tasks
Python SDK: Native Python library for developers
REST API: HTTP endpoints for any language
MCP: Model Context Protocol for AI agents (Claude Desktop, etc.)
What are rate limits?
Standard accounts can make 60 requests per minute. If you hit the limit, you'll get a 429 error. Implement exponential backoff in your code. Enterprise plans have higher limits.
How do I use webhooks?
Add a webhook_url field when creating a job. You'll receive HTTP POST notifications when screening completes. We also support webhook_conditions to filter which events trigger notifications, including: job.completed, job.processing, job.failed, high_score_detected, candidate.shortlisted, and candidate.rejected.
Is my data secure?
Absolutely. We use industry-standard encryption (TLS 1.3), never share your candidate data, and comply with GDPR and CCPA. Your data is stored in secure, private server infrastructure in the US.

Results & Accuracy
How accurate is the AI scoring?
Our AI analyzes candidates based on skills, experience, and qualifications relative to your job requirements. Accuracy depends on the quality of your job description and resume content - clear, detailed job postings yield better results.
What does the score mean?
Scores range from 0-100 and represent how well the candidate matches your job requirements:
• 80-100: Strong match
• 60-79: Possible fit
• 0-59: Not recommended
What are "strengths" and "weaknesses"?
The AI identifies specific skills and experiences that match (strengths) or are missing (weaknesses) from each candidate's resume relative to your job requirements.
Where do the interview questions come from?
The AI generates tailored interview questions based on the candidate's resume and your job description. Each question targets specific skills or experiences that need further evaluation.
Can I improve accuracy?
Yes! Write detailed job descriptions with specific skills, use the leniency setting appropriately, and provide custom instructions. Better inputs = better outputs.
Does HireSquire detect AI-generated resumes?
We recommend combining AI screening with human judgment for hiring decisions. AI-generated resumes may be flagged based on patterns, but this isn't always accurate.
Integrations
Can I integrate with my ATS?
Yes! We integrate with most ATS systems via our REST API. For custom integrations, use our webhooks or API endpoints.
Does HireSquire work with Zapier, n8n, or Make?
Yes! Use our integrations to connect with popular automation platforms. Common workflows include posting results to Slack, adding candidates to Google Sheets, or triggering email sequences.
Can I use HireSquire with Claude Desktop?
Yes! Use our MCP (Model Context Protocol) server to give Claude Desktop direct access to HireSquire. This is ideal for AI agents that need to screen candidates autonomously.
Do you offer an API?
Yes! Our REST API provides complete programmatic access. All features available in the dashboard are also available via API. See our API documentation for details.
